Sermorelin vs Tesamorelin
Sermorelin and Tesamorelin are separate research compounds. This page sets what our catalogue and the laboratory certificates state about each one side by side: identifiers, formula, molecular weight, chain length, form and storage. It describes the materials, not what they do, and carries no use guidance.

What differs
- Chain length: Sermorelin has 29 residues and Tesamorelin has 44 residues.
- Molecular weight: Sermorelin is 3,357.9 g/mol and Tesamorelin is 5,136 g/mol. Tesamorelin is the largest of the two.
- Each has its own CAS registry number (Sermorelin: 86168-78-7 and Tesamorelin: 218949-48-5), which is how a chemical supplier tells them apart on paper.
- Their molecular formulas differ: C149H246N44O42S for Sermorelin and C221H366N72O67S for Tesamorelin.
What each one is
Sermorelin
The first twenty-nine residues of growth hormone releasing hormone, which is the whole of its activity at the GHRH receptor. Used in pituitary somatotroph assays and as the reference agonist against which the longer-acting GHRH analogues are compared. See Sermorelin.
Tesamorelin
A GHRH(1-44) analogue carrying a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminal tyrosine, which slows degradation by dipeptidyl peptidase-4. Used to study GHRH receptor signalling where a longer-lived agonist than sermorelin is needed. See Tesamorelin.
Common questions
Are Sermorelin and Tesamorelin the same compound?
No. They are separate compounds with separate CAS registry numbers: 86168-78-7 for Sermorelin and 218949-48-5 for Tesamorelin. They are sold as separate items and certified separately.
Which is the larger molecule, Sermorelin or Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin, at 5,136 g/mol. Sermorelin is 3,357.9 g/mol.
Is there a certificate of analysis for Sermorelin and Tesamorelin?
Sermorelin has 1 current certificate and Tesamorelin has 2 current certificates in the testing library, each linked to the laboratory's own file.
Does this page say what Sermorelin and Tesamorelin are used for?
No. It compares the materials as chemicals: identifiers, formula, weight, chain length, form and storage. Everything here is sold for laboratory research use only, and the site publishes no use guidance.
