Peptides sit in a useful gap. Small molecules are blunt and proteins are hard to define. A chain of a few dozen amino acids can be specified exactly, synthesised to a known purity, and still bind one target and not its neighbors.
They are selective
A short chain can bind one receptor tightly and leave the related ones alone. That is why peptides are useful as research tools: they let you ask a narrow question and get a narrow answer.
They are native signalling molecules
Cell-to-cell signalling already runs on peptides, which is why a synthetic peptide is a precise probe of a receptor that evolved to read one.
They are small enough to make
A protein has to be expressed in a living system. A peptide can be built residue by residue on a resin, which means a defined sequence, a defined purity, and a molecule you can actually characterize.

Receptor pharmacology, metabolism, matrix and tissue biology, immunology, antimicrobials, cosmetic science. Decades of published work sit behind this class of molecule.

08How it is made
Five steps between an amino acid and a sealed vial.
Worth understanding, because it explains the price. A four-residue peptide and a forty-four-residue peptide are not the same product with a different label.
01Built one residue at a time

Built one residue at a time
Solid-phase synthesis. The chain is anchored to a resin bead and grown from the C-terminus up, one amino acid per cycle, each one coupled, capped and washed. A forty-residue peptide is forty of those cycles, which is most of why it costs what it does.

Cleaved off the resin
Acid takes the finished chain off the bead and strips the side-chain protecting groups at the same time. What drops out is crude: the peptide you wanted, plus the ones that missed a coupling somewhere along the way.

Purified until it is one peak
Preparative reversed-phase HPLC pulls the product away from the deletion sequences and truncations. Fractions get cut and re-run until an analytical injection comes back as a single dominant peak.

Tested by a third-party laboratory
A sample of the lot goes to a named third-party laboratory: purity by HPLC, identity by mass spectrometry, and the measured content of the vial. Its certificate carries the lot number and a verification number you can check on the laboratory’s own site.

The FDA’s warning letters to research-peptide sellers keep citing the same things: dosing guidance, health claims, and research material sold next to the kit for injecting it. We would rather lose those orders than build on them, and saying so up front is the only version of this that means anything.

Do I need an account to order?
No. Every price is visible without one, and there are no customer accounts on this site. Certificates are public: any lot in the library can be looked up by its number.
Why does it matter who tested a lot?
Because a certificate can be copied and a batch number can be typed. In May 2026 the FDA cited an upstream supplier for relabelling material under a new batch number and changing both the manufacturing date and the retest date without supporting data. A certificate that names its laboratory and carries that laboratory’s own verification number can be confirmed with the laboratory directly, which is what every certificate in our library does. We do not yet publish the manufacturing facility behind each lot.
What does the laboratory certificate cover?
Identity by mass spectrometry, purity by reversed-phase HPLC peak area, and the measured content of the vial in milligrams; most also report endotoxin, heavy metals and sterility. The sample is submitted by our supplier, the certificate carries the lot number, and the laboratory’s verification number lets you confirm it on the laboratory’s own site.
How is purity measured?
Reversed-phase HPLC at 214 nanometers, where the peptide bond absorbs. Purity is reported as product peak area over total peak area, and each certificate names the method.
Can you synthesise something that is not in the catalog?
Possibly. Send the sequence and the scale through the form and we will ask our supplier, then reply in writing with whether it can be made, a price and a lead time.
What are the minimum quantities?
One vial. Each line lists the sizes it comes in, and larger sizes cost less per milligram: the ladder is printed on every product page, so you can see where the next break falls before you buy.
How is material shipped and stored?
Lyophilized powder in sealed vials, packed with gel packs in insulated mailers, domestic overnight or two-day. The storage condition for each line is on its product page.
